Media Campus

The Media Campus serves as the central hub for student media and communications on campus. It combines a weekly newspaper, a 24/7 radio station, a professional television studio, and a fully equipped digital media lab. Students gain hands-on experience in journalism, broadcasting, video production, and digital design under the guidance of experienced faculty and industry mentors.

Campus Newspaper — The weekly student newspaper covers campus news, arts, sports, and opinion. Students work as reporters, editors, photographers, and page designers, producing a print edition that is also published online. The newspaper offers a practical foundation in editorial decision-making, fact-checking, and deadline management. New contributors are always welcome to pitch stories or join the design team.

Radio Station — Broadcasting around the clock, the student-run radio station features a diverse mix of music, talk shows, interviews, and live sports commentary. Participants learn on-air presentation, audio editing, program scheduling, and digital streaming techniques. The station serves as a training ground for aspiring broadcasters and podcasters, and its online stream extends the listenership beyond the campus.

Television Studio — The on-campus TV studio is equipped with professional cameras, a lighting grid, and a green screen. Students produce news packages, interviews, creative shorts, and a weekly magazine program. Roles rotate among producing, directing, camera operation, sound mixing, and editing. Finished segments are broadcast on the campus cable system and shared on a dedicated digital channel.

Digital Media Lab — The digital media lab provides high-end workstations loaded with industry-standard software including Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and web development tools. Students can book time for class projects or independent creative work. Equipment such as DSLR cameras, portable audio recorders, and lighting kits are available for checkout, giving everyone the tools to produce professional-level content.

The Media Campus encourages students from all majors to get involved. Workshops on podcasting, screenwriting, social media strategy, and equipment training are offered regularly throughout the academic year. For more information or to propose a new project, contact the Media Campus office or speak with a faculty advisor.
